Farm Fresh Fromage

Yesterday, after we drove up into the clouds for about 10K and found our parking spot for the day, we wandered to a little dairy farm, Ferme Augerge Hahnenbrunnen at the top of Col de Hahnenbrunnen. Initially we intended to just grab some cafe and use the restroom. However, with the rain picking up outside, we decided to have a Kroningbourg, then some vin and then some food. In the end, we stayed at the quaint mountain-top restaurant until just about 45 minutes before the race came through, leaving only about an hour for us to stand in the rain and get soaked.

Above is their fromage plate -- all made right there on the farm -- can you pick out the butter without eating it first? I guess if you can order lard from the menu, eating butter straight without any bread isn't that big of a deal. It was still pretty tasty, bon appetit!

Angel's exact quote: "This one's soft like butter ...(tastes it)... uh, because it is butter."
